Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi is set for a medical at Fulham after a deal which could reach £22m was agreed.
Meanwhile, Joao Palhinha’s proposed move from Craven Cottage to Bayern Munich is in doubt after the German transfer window closed at 17:00 BST.
Palhinha was given permission to travel to Germany by Fulham for a medical.
This was on the strict understanding that a deal worth around £65m could be agreed, but with time running out no deal had yet been struck.
The window closed without confirmation from either side that a deal had been done, with German sources reporting the move was off – although neither club has yet to comment on the current situation.
Should he leave the Portugal midfielder, 28, would become the second significant departure from Craven Cottage this summer, following Aleksandar Mitrovic’s move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
Iwobi has played in two of Everton’s three Premier League games this season, but missed Saturday’s home defeat to Wolves with injury. The Toffees are yet to pick up a single point so far.
The 27-year-old Nigeria midfielder joined Everton from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and has made 123 league appearances, scoring six times.
